The origin

Nightmare on 9™ was created by Thomas Family Farm and grew into a Pacific Northwest haunt destination alongside Zombie Paintball. In 2019, the attraction was completely renovated with new scenes, expanded storylines, new branding, and a rebuilt guest experience.

Located at Thomas Family Farm in Snohomish, Washington, just off State Route 9, the attraction brings together immersive sets, live actors, original characters, and multiple haunted environments on the farm.

Nightmare on 9™ is owned and trademarked by Thomas Family Farm. The name and story world remain part of the Thomas Family Farm brand year-round.

Production history

Built to evolve every season

Own the Night Productions has served as a production partner for the Nightmare on 9™ haunted house and haunted town, helping develop immersive scenes, environments, and story-driven experiences as the attraction has evolved.

Nightmare on 9™ Haunted House

The Vogel Institute

Dream therapy went somewhere much darker.

Founded in 1932 by the mysterious Dr. Joseph Vogel, the Vogel Institute became known for experimental dream therapy. Behind closed doors, however, the research took a darker turn.

Guests move through dim corridors, treatment rooms, and abandoned wards while uncovering what happened to the patients — and what the doctors were trying to harvest from their nightmares. The deeper you go, the harder it becomes to tell where the experiment ends and the nightmare begins.

Nightmare on 9™ Haunted Town

Rippers Hollow

A lost mining town that never truly emptied.

In the heart of the Snohomish Valley lies the lost and forsaken town of Rippers Hollow. Once a bustling coal-mining community, the town became a charred and twisted shell of its former glory after desperate miners ventured too deep and uncovered something they could not contain.

Locals still tell stories of figures wandering the fog-covered streets and footsteps echoing through empty buildings. Those who return speak in tormented whispers of what remains there. Every shadow holds a threat, and every doorway feels like a warning.

Will you brave the streets and search for what happened? The choice is yours. But once you step into Rippers Hollow, you become part of its haunted story.
